To create a new object, use the Select tab and click on an object button. After
clicking on it, you will automatically be in Edit mode. The object may not be visible
at this point, since it is underneath the mouse. Without clicking on anything, move the
hand cursor to the desired location and then click again to place the object. (For polyLine/polyBezier
objects, see the tab called 'polyLine'.) To edit an object, hover over one of the handles until it turns red, and you get a cross-hair cursor. Then drag the handle to change the size or shape. The handles generally come in two types, rectangles to change the location and size and orientation of the object, and circles to change the internal shape. More precise control of the handles is obtained by selecting a text box on the right, and using arrow keys to change the value. You can create clones of an object using the options in the drop-down boxes in the 'Edit' menu item. To edit a different object, switch to Select mode and hover slowly over an object until it changes color. Then switch to Edit mode again. You can toggle between Select and Edit modes at any time using the RMB (right mouse button). For more precise control, you can zoom in by as much as a factor of ten using the mouse wheel. Once the drawing is complete, you can, optionally, use the Paint tab to perform a flood fill of selected areas. When done, the drawing details will be stored as a plain text file, and can also be exported to SVG. Details of which mouse and keyboard operations are supported, and when, are in the remaining tabs in this document. |
